Aside from illustrating the key role of inpatient neurologists in the diagnosis of near-SUDEP, this manuscript discusses the potential significance of postictal ischemic infarctions, transient asymptomatic troponin elevations, and transient non-infectious leukocytoses in epilepsy patients with cardiovascular risk factors.
